Christmas 2018 Playlist Favorites

The Playlist

It was really simple to make my Christmas 2018 playlist with an (unapologetic) nod to Amazon Music.

First, create a “+ new playlist” in “Online Music,” “Playlists” in the Amazon Music app for Android. There’s also an app for iTunes.

I called my playlist “Christmas 2018 Playlist.”

Then, go to “Browse” and “Playlists.” Scroll until you find a pre-made Christmas playlist you like.  I liked the “Christmas Past” playlist.

Click on the list. For each song that you like, click on the three dots to the right of the song, then “Add to Playlist.”

Scroll until you find the playlist you just created. Click on it, to add the selected song.

To add other songs not on the pre-made playlist, just use the search icon at the top of the page, and enter the name of the song you are looking for.  Follow the same steps to add your song. Amazon Music’s catalog is vast.

That’s it. You can now stream your playlist while you’re on wifi or on the road. (If you are not connected to wifi, remember that streaming will use data.)

Download to Avoid Data Use

To download the playlist to your device and play the list without streaming, click on the three dots to the right of your playlist title, then click “download.”  You’ll see a gray check mark next to the title when it has successfully downloaded.

Upgrading your Prime membership will give you access to even more music titles. Check pricing to see if the upgrade makes sense for you.

Is Prime Really Worth the Cost?

We held off on signing up for Amazon Prime until about four years ago.  Realizing that we were delaying necessary purchases because of shipping costs, and that our television habits were changing to more on demand programming, we decided to give Prime a try.

As of today, I can tell you that the annual fee has been worth it.

Not only do we get free shipping and on demand programming, Amazon Prime Music and free Kindle book selections are included and available with Amazon Prime.

Plus, our kids, who are away at college, can also use our account.  (see Prime details and terms for more info)

A Great Gift

If you know someone who loves books, movies, and free shipping, (who doesn’t??) Amazon Prime makes a great gift.

Happy holidays
