Pedestrian Bridge in 2017; You Can’t Fall Off

Biking next to the river this morning, I noticed how many fences had been installed around ditches and drainpipes on the path. Not simple wire or metal, but full-on hardwood fencing.

I don’t ever remember so much precaution. Is it our litigious society? Our generational tendency to blame someone else for every accident?

The park recently finished a pedestrian bridge over a creek. The railing is five feet high. You won’t be falling off of this bridge.
