Monhegan Island is about 12 miles off the coast of Maine. The island provides incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean from miles of coastal hiking trails, some of which are quite steep. The island has attracted artists since the late 1800’s, and day visitors can enjoy the town’s several art galleries, the island museum, and the granite lighthouse.
