Six on Saturday is a posting theme created by The Propagator.
Just wanted to clear that up for some friends who don’t understand what this post is about.
Gardeners from around the world share six photos relating to their gardens, or clients’ gardens, or gardens they visit.
It’s fun to participate, and you can do it via a number of social media platforms, by providing a link to your post in the comment section of The Propagator’s Saturday post. You will also find the “rules” on the site.
Okay, here we go!
I woke up late this morning. I spent some time last night writing an opinion piece about Facebook and its frenemy, Cambridge Analytica.
Lesson 1: Don’t write an opinion piece at bedtime.
Lesson 2: Don’t even take your lap top, phone, or tablet to your bedroom. Ever.
I’m sure that you all are aware of these rules. I just happen to be a ruler breaker who thinks she’s a rule follower. That’s fodder for a later post.
I woke to a pink and blue and gold sky.
With my cup in hand, I looked out to see my deer friends grazing in the woods, moving closer to our yard.
I heard glorious birdsong, even though the temperature remains below zero. If it didn’t look or feel like spring, it sure did sound like it.
Breaking rules here, but I thought I’d include a short recording of those songs. You can hear a pileated woodpecker in the recording, too!
I usually wake up earlier, but in addition to staying up too late, we just returned from a trip to my hometown. I convinced my husband to attend a home and garden show. We had a couple of hours to kill.
The show itself was a bust. We did, however, see some beautiful and unusual succulents displayed by a local nursery. The display was in the lobby prior to the official entrance.
Too bad that we paid. The best display was the warm up!
I just took a stroll around the yard. It’s above freezing now. If we ask nicely, maybe we’ll get a total thaw!
What’s blooming? This is about it, so far!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Saturday share. Have a great weekend!
