Do you often find your phone’s memory full because you never bother to download and save your photos to an external drive?
There’s a super-simple tip that will make your life so much better.
Control-click. That’s all it takes.
No One Knows Everything
I’ve been using various software programs all the way back to the days of Lotus 1-2-3.
But, I never knew there was a simple method for moving multiple photos at one time. Hey, it’s okay not to know everything.
Photo Organizing Can Be Overwhelming
See if this sounds familiar:
I have a free cloud account, and upload my camera photos to it. Some of the photos are for posts, ideas, or furniture to show my husband. Some of the photos are of family.
If I set my phone to automatically upload to Dropbox (or Google Photos, Windows Live Photo Gallery, etc.), it may be convenient, but my photos are uncurated and disorganized.
So, I upload them manually, and edit or delete hundreds of photos before connecting the USB cable from my phone to the computer.
This is faster for uploading multiple photos but, again, the photos aren’t organized.
Folders for Photos
To organize my photos, I could create folders on my computer or in Dropbox, and then move the photos into those folders.
But, the downside was having to drag the photos one-by-one into the folders.
I would try clicking on a photo to select it, and then another photo; but the first one selected would become deselected.
Arghhhh…
Control Is the Key
Here’s a better way.
All you need to do, after you’ve selected your first photo, is hold down the control [Ctrl] key and click on the next photo, and do the same for the next, and the next, and so on, until you’ve selected multiple photos you want to include in a particular folder.
Then, you can right-click, cut or copy, and paste. All of the selected photos will be cut/copied and pasted to the location of your choice.
Alternatively, you can drag one of the selected photos, and all of the selected photos will go with it!
This tip has made my life so much easier. I hope that you find it helpful, too!
