The Sun Also Rises: Capturing a Sun Rise Is a Challenge

That’s a rather obvious title for a sun rise photo, right?

Elusive Sun Rise

Last Saturday, I woke up to this spectacular sky. I grabbed my phone to take pictures, but had a hard time capturing the colors.  As I clicked, the sky starting changing.  Really, within a minute the clouds and sunlight completely changed. I’m glad that this shot came out.

Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge: Rise/Set

Memorable Characters

I first read The Sun Also Rises back in 1980, and was familiar with it years before that.

It is a great story, but what I love most about Hemingway’s works are his characters. They seem real, yet so eccentric;  almost stereotypes.

I wanted to be Lady Brett, with all her glamour and recklessness.  Deep down, that isn’t me.  I am quite cautious.  That must be why we are attracted to certain characters, and people!  Opposites…

The awesome but elusive sun rise, and bigger than life characters , encourage us to continue on life’s journey.

Why do you think Hemingway’s work is classic?

  3. Thanks, I’m just happy that I was able to get myself out of bed to capture it!
