Summer Winner: Cucumber-Lime Craft Cocktail

Mmmm…  a Cucumber-Lime Craft Cocktail hits the spot on a sunny, warm evening.

Our local tavern serves a bright, cool cocktail made with cucumber, pear vodka, and lime juice. Here is my take on our local favorite. There is a crispness from the cucumber that makes this such a refreshing treat.

What’s a Craft Cocktail?

I’ve been reading discussion boards and have to laugh at the answers to the question, “What makes a cocktail a craft cocktail?”

The tongue-in-cheek answer is, “Price. It costs more. That may be true; but, the best answer is that it is a cocktail made with fresh ingredients. For this drink, you will use fresh cucumbers and lime juice.

Fresh lime juice has no substitute, so don’t even go there. You won’t regret the extra effort!

About The Cucumber Water and Simple Syrup

The methods for making the cucumber water and the simple syrup follow the cocktail recipe.  Both are super easy.  If you’d like to speed up the cucumber water method, muddle the cucumber slices with a wooden spoon in the bottom of the pitcher.

Calorie counts for each recipe are given; the calorie count for the cocktail itself already includes the simple syrup calories.
