30 Days of Health and Contentment: Day 1, Tips for Starting, and An Eggplant Recipe

Good morning!

Let’s start by skipping any sweetness in our coffee or tea. Enjoy the flavor without the sugar. Whether you add milk or cream, that’s up to you.

Steer clear of white flour and sugar today.

Take some time now to plan your menu today on the Myplate app. Also, plan 50 minutes of aerobic exercise (5 min. warm up, 40 min. in target heart-rate zone, 5 min. cool down).

Don’t forget to plan for afternoon “hangry.” Try celery with natural peanut butter, an apple with cheese or nut butter, or a snack of nuts or seeds.  Drink water, milk, or seltzer, not soda.

Grilled Eggplant Parmesan makes a good dinner. You can bake the eggplant in the oven for 15-20 minutes rather than grilling it, if you don’t want to venture outside.

Instead of just watching television, take at least thirty minutes to do something you enjoy, be it reading, a hobby or craft, or listening to a podcast or music.
