Six On Saturday 9-30-17

This has been the driest September that I can remember. Luckily, the flower pots are still blooming.  Last year, we lost a crab-apple and this year it looks like a second may be going.  Sad.

It is time for the asters to bloom, and they are right on cue.

I don’t always like the look of tropical flowers. They almost look too kitschy on the deck.  For begonias,  though, I gladly make an exception.

Honestly, I tried to see why this is called turtlehead and never got it – until I looked closely at this picture!

The portulaca held up well in the dry heat, owing to its succulent qualities.

The old standby, marigold, has never failed. It may be common, but it is still a winner.

Well, those are my six for this round. Check out what’s going on at The Propagator this week!
